For 40 years YSI has played a key role in temperature monitoring for
healthcare. In the early 1950s, YSI introduced the first practical electronic medical
thermometer and, shortly thereafter, the first interchangeable thermistor components which
became the 400 Series probes. These designs set the industry standards for accurately
measuring temperature in the operating room, lab and factory. The 400 Series continues to be the
most widely used probe platform. In 2005 YSI was purchased by Measurement
Specialties. The temperature group continues the YSI tradition of
outstanding Medical Probes for Medicine, Laboratory and Industry.

All YSI reusable temperature probes are calibrated using standards traceable to the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and carry the CE Mark (certified to the Medical Device Directive (MMD) 93/42/EEC).
401 Esophageal/Rectal, Adult
- Vinyl design for ease-of-insertion and long-term use
- 401: 14FR (4.8 mm /.189 in. max. tip diameter)
- 701: 17FR (6.3 mm /.248 in. max. tip diameter)
402 Esophageal/Rectal, Pediatric
- Similar to 401 with smaller, flexible design for pediatric applications
- 402: 9FR (3.2 mm /.126 in. max. tip diameter)

403 Tubular Oral or Rectal, Adult
- Temperature sensor located at the tip of a 4.5" (.114 m) long stainless steel sheath, intended for use in adult oral or rectal temperature measurement
- 0.157" (4 mm) Sheath diameter
406 Tubular Oral or Rectal, Pediatric
- Stainless steel probe sheath, similar to 403/703 (above) but with smaller profile for pediatric applications
- 0.125" (3.2 mm) Sheath diameter
408 Banjo-style Skin
- Surface probe featuring rigid, stainless steel handle particularly effective when taking intermittent skin or axillary measurements
- 9.5 mm (.375 in.) sensor disk diameter (408 & 708)
409AC and 409B Skin, Adult
- Surface probe with stainless steel disk (patient surface) attached to flexible vinyl wire

Allows continuous temperature monitoring of gases delivered through anesthesia and respiratory circuits. Manifold outlet included with each probe.
